Roadblock Party "BEYOND – The Key to Happiness"
Phase 1: The Arrival Experience:
The arrival experience offered significantly more this time compared to the 2025 edition. It began with a distinctive Broadway-inspired theatrical theme, establishing a methodical, multi-layered entry process. Registration was exclusively digital and—keeping with the theme of happiness—included a gift. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by strategically positioned security personnel, ensuring a safe environment from the first access point through to the accreditation center. There, processes were managed seamlessly by professional staff. Once accredited, guests were cleared at the second security point and handed into the care of the "RoadBlock-Party Angels." These Angels led attendees into a festival city that could only be described as more visually stunning than the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Broadway combined.
The Roadblock - Beyond Deliverables:
Roadblock went beyond typical entertainment by offering a "Pleasure Dome" of interactive lifestyle experiences. Every corner featured attractions designed for various forms of engagement—perfect for media interviews, meet-and-greets, and photo-ops, including a dedicated props walkway for short videos. Sponsored by Desperados, these zones allowed "Saints and Sinners" alike to immerse themselves and prepare for the larger experience ahead.
Upon entering this city, guests could choose their first point of engagement:
- The Happiness House: A centerpiece installation featuring curated props, offering a place to reflect and dream big about the future. Guests documented their moments through short videos and photos, and were treated to happiness gifts reflecting the event's theme.
- Refreshment Zone: A high-energy hub stocked with expertly chilled Desperados.
- The Desperados Experience: A dedicated beauty bar offering hair styling, nail services, temporary body art, and a playground.
- The Swinging High and Low Point: A nostalgic installation that invited ravers to "Be a Child Again."
- The Outdoor DJs Academy Stage: A prime location for capturing premium photo and video content.
This city was designed as a sanctuary of love and friendship, featuring a festive atmosphere of sights and sounds perfect for photography, selfies, and pure enjoyment.
The Roadblock - Next Rated DJs:
This festival city was later transformed into the primary party zone to host the Roadblock Next Rated DJ Academy, a fresh addition to the Roadblock experience and a major highlight of the BEYOND: The Key to Happiness edition. Held on the outdoor stage, the Remix Contest was designed to discover and elevate the next generation of turntablists. Out of numerous entries, the contestants battled for a career-defining opportunity.
The task, "Flip That Hit," required competitors to remix popular songs with a focus on creativity, clean mixing, and dancefloor energy. In a thrilling turn of events, the audience was tasked with acting as judges. A young university student, who had traveled directly from school to take his shot at greatness, became the people's choice and was crowned the winner. He was presented with a ₦500,000 monetary prize on stage by the Senior Brand Manager of Desperados. Along with the cash, he secured a spot on the Main Stage, performing alongside the industry’s heaviest hitters.
Transition and Safety:
The conclusion of the Roadblock Next Rated DJs served as the call-to-action for Phase 2: The Main Stage Experience. The holding city was not shut down; instead, it became a vital transit point, extension, and overflow area for the main Arena. The sound from the Hippodrome was perfectly replicated in the holding city without any loss of quality. All cited activity zones—including the Happiness House, Desperados Experience, Refreshment Zone, Swinging High & Low Point, and the Outdoor Stage—remained open and bustling throughout the party.
Ensuring guest welfare remained a priority. A state-of-the-art medical station, fully staffed by paramedics and equipped with a mobile ICU unit to handle any emergencies, was located before the second access point.
